* Important Announcement*
As you may be aware, Pandora Pond has recently closed due to water contamination. Due to this, the organisers of the Tremains Triathlon, Tremain Real Estate and… Triathlon Hawke’s Bay, have made the decision to replace the swim/kayak and SUP leg of the triathlon with a 2km run/walk.
The health and safety of our competitors is the main priority for us and we believe it is in everyone’s best interest to make this decision early to allow time for competitors to adjust to the new leg and/or make arrangements as necessary.
This change means that the event will be solely based from the new finish area at the Meeanee Quay Reserve.
The cycle leg will remain the same
Please see below for amended maps
First Leg 2km Run
Second Leg Cycle Course
Last Leg 5km Run
Please register as normal under the swim/SUP/Kayak sections and this will determine your start wave for the 2km Run/Walk
* NEW RUN AND CYCLE COURSE FOR 2018*
Choose from womens, mens or mixed categories. It will be a day of fun, laughs, team building and friendly office rivalry! For more information head to www.tremainstriathlon.co.nz
This is a triathlon for all levels of abilities and the perfect chance to kickstart your training into gear for 2018.
The 2018 event will feature an exciting swim, kayak and a SUP option that will guarantee competitors the opportunity to get paddling.
Pandora Pond is the location for the swim / kayak / SUPB. The run / walk will follow going through the DOC reserve and finishing at the Meeanee Quay Reserve. From there your cyclist will head out on a 3 lap course where you will be cheered on by spectators and team mates before finishing at the Meeanee Quay Reserve.
The main transition, registration point and tent areas will be on the grassed area on Meeanee Quay Reserve opposite the Westshore Inn.
Minimum age to take part is 12 years old
SECONDARY SCHOOLS COMPETITION
Last year we introduced a secondary Schools competition and thanks to Kiwi Bank we had some amazing prizes. It will be back again this year and we would like schools to get behind this.
We even have a challenge for the principles………. Get a team together with you taking part in one of the legs and challenge the other schools
STAND UP PADDLE BOARD
The Stand Up Paddle Board Option will be back again in 2018 and you will do a 1300m circuit.
For those new to SUP or those not so confident it is recommended you get along to Paddle Boarding Hawkes Bay for an introductory lesson
